Community Meetings

Bringing people together to support a common cause is at the heart of our mission, and our recent community meetings have been a beautiful reflection of that spirit. In October, we hosted our very first Community Coffee Chat at Purr Cup Café in Raleigh, NC. This cozy gathering space, generously provided by owners Arthur and Sarah, became the perfect backdrop for connection, collaboration, and collective action.

The event brought together members, volunteers, and curious community members, all driven by a shared passion for positive change. Over cups of coffee and heartwarming conversations, we shared our goals and objectives, focusing on our pressing need to raise at least $8,000 each month to sustain our initiatives. With this mission in mind, attendees brainstormed creative fundraising ideas, sparking a surge of fresh energy and motivation. The enthusiasm and dedication from our volunteers were palpable, leaving us inspired and ready to take on the challenges ahead.

Our most recent community meeting continued this momentum. Held in November at La Recette Pâtisserie in Durham, the event saw an even greater turnout, a testament to the growing commitment and engagement from our supporters. The setting was warm and inviting, and the energy in the room was electric. We’re incredibly grateful for every person who took the time to join us, share ideas, and offer their support.

These meetings are more than just gatherings—they’re a testament to the power of community-driven change. Each discussion, every shared idea, and each new connection strengthens our ability to achieve our goals. We’re excited to continue building this momentum, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

If you’d like to join us for our next community meeting, stay tuned for updates on Instagram at @onebodyinitiative. Whether you’re a long-time supporter or new to our cause, you’ll be welcomed with open arms, a warm cup of coffee, and a chance to make a real impact. Together, we’re building a stronger, more connected community—one conversation at a time.I
